Basic Skills Quality Mark |
| |
| |
Salehurst School has now achieved the Basic Skills Quality Mark for a second time. This is an award from the Basic Skills Agency for schools that meet their criteria in a number of areas, including assessment and tracking of pupil performance, the use of appropriate materials and a range of teaching styles, involvement of parents and targets for improving school performance. A primary school has to demonstrate that it has all the evidence in place for each Element before the Primary Quality Mark can be awarded. We are proud of our record in the teaching of literacy and numeracy and the recognition we have received from the Basic Skills Agency. |

Healthy Schools’ Silver Award |
| |
| |
To achieve the Silver Award, we had to complete targets based on our own health priorities which included: Emotional Health and Wellbeing, Personal Social and Health Education, Physical Activity and Healthy Eating, developing Pupil Voice and developing the School Environment. We are particularly proud of our two walking buses, running from different ends of the village, enabling children to walk to school in a controlled, safe and enjoyable way. This helps to improve the health, safety and well-being of our children and reduce the amount of traffic using our roads. |
