  Salehurst School Association

The Salehurst School Association, usually referred to as the SSA is the main fundraising arm of the school.  Each parent or carer of a child is automatically a member of the Association.  Each year a Committee is formed and they manage the many social events that take place during the year.

The SSA plays a very important part in providing our school with extra items that the school budget simply cannot cover.

Parents and the school

At Salehurst we understand how important it is to have regular communication between teachers and parents. Parent consultation evenings, where you can discuss your child’s progress, are held in the autumn and spring terms and a full written report is given in the summer term each year.

We have an ‘Open Door’ policy and encourage parents to speak to teachers, who are normally available each day after school, if there are any problems or concerns. If necessary, a formal appointment can then be made to share more information and address the problem. Of course, meetings are not just for concerns; they offer opportunities for discussing achievement and celebrating success. Regular newsletters are another way we keep parents informed and there are many ‘open’ sessions to which parents are invited over the year.
